Shimmy-shimmy boom-boom stunners, part II of II

Summer’s on her sunshiny way, café patrons!

That means a Summer Deluxe Edition of the Multichrome Comparison Library is in short order.

Put on a hat + sunglasses, grab your parasol + an outdoor table with a refreshing beverage of your choice, and relax + enjoy these little bottles as much as I delighted in gathering + posing them for you 🙂

Summertime roundup: now complete with swatches

Done! And I even found some unintended PFFs in the bunch. This could be a never-ending endeavor, one I wish I hadn’t begun

I’ll first show you the Polish Friends Forever I’ve discovered. I worked very hard on swatching and listing the Summertime Roundup nail wheel colors (two coats each!), but wasn’t impressed with the overall images. The PFFs are more interesting…

So here we have Sinful Colors 1258 Eva So Bright, Sinful Colors 108 Timbleberry and Catrice Revoltaire LE C03 Colour Bomb. Eva So Bright is just a wee bit lighter than Timbleberry, and Timbleberry has greater opacity and saturation than Colour Bomb. Aside from that, declared total PFFs…

On the nail wheel, the order is reversed. From L to R: Colour Bomb, Timbleberry, Eva So Bright.

Next up, Essence Fantasia TE 02 Queen of My Cloud Castle and Chanel 549 Distraction. Both are medium salmon pink-orange with fine hot pink shimmer. Essence looks like it has some additional silver veining as well; it’s slightly brighter and flashier than Chanel on the nail wheel, but not by much…

This last set of PFFs sort of tagged along with the herd of glitters, multichromes and shimmers that have just a touch of orange or copper or whatever (in case you’re wondering what they’re doing here!)…

OPI Gouda Gouda Two Shoes – fine shimmer sheen, darker and browner base color than Bricky Mouse
Sinful Colors 1110 Pandora – leans most rust-toned of the group, with least visible shimmer

Summertime roundup, wild card: peachy apricot glitters

I quickly got bored of the summertime roundup before it was even part way completed and wish to move on to other color pastures. The bottles are lined up orderly across my bedroom floor, however, and must be photographed in the event a patron of the café finds them useful for reference or simply beautiful to behold. Further on in the roundup (with luck, to be finished by the end of September 2013), I will show the juicy orange and fruit punch-y glitters on offer. For now, as a beloved university mate used to say, take a visual of this purty duo (Etude House Apricot Candy and KleanColor 138 Holo Orange):

On the nail wheel: Etude House Apricot Candy, KleanColor 138 Holo Orange, EH with KC as a top coat, EH with KC as a base. Both look better layered than alone. If I could stand the noxious glue fumes of KC and had the patience to wait for it to dry, I would attempt a sandwich with KC, EH, KC. Now THAT might be worth the nausea…

Do try this duo together in some fashion, ladies. I hope you were inspired by your visit to the café!

Summertime roundup: three rows deep, y’all

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Yeeesh, this was a lotta work lassoing these all together onto one shelf. But now that they’re corralled, it’ll be that much easier to swatch and photograph them in detail for you. In spite of my best efforts, I’ve overlooked quite a few and will rustle up them stragglers in the next few weeks.

Summertime roundup to be posted shortly…

Imagine, illness striking during this season of light and heat… but I’ve been struck down for days now. It’s all I can do to stare glassy-eyed for a few minutes on a sunny afternoon at a screen featuring a lineup of beauties from a nail varnish lover across the globe, before my energy wanes and my weary eyes close once again.

Today, I was in Moscow, ogling a wonderful collection of the above tones, which immediately inspired me (winded, groaning and shuffling) to round up my own and give them some admiration.

I figured this would be an easy task, since it is these shades of which I own the least.

Or so I thought… in Sunday’s morning light, you’ll see all I’ve culled. Editing such volume was rough going for sick li’l me… but these bottles look oh, so pretty all lined up and ready to show.
