308 (the label fell off the bottom, so I took advantage by tipping the bottle to show you this amazing little wonder)

This post has taken me an entire day to complete, and I’m still not done at past 11:00 p.m.!

My internet is super duper slow due to it being the end of the month, hopefully all of the images will load properly and I can add a few photos of the completed 6-6-6 wheel tomorrow …

Old multichrome spam

I took these photos back in early summer 2012. The majority of the varnishes have been traded; some whose names I cannot remember. What I do remember is the feeling of being overwhelmed by all of the bottles on my desk. Absolutely minimal in comparison to what I’m currently contending with… and I keep adding more!

Please, if you know the names of any of the anonymous varnishes, pray tell!

P1020220

Nina Ultra Pro Molten Lava, Nubar Shock Sonic Sunset, Crystal Mesmerizing (these last two I have hung onto for sentimental reasons, as they were a gift from kimbuyah on MUA)

P1020219

P1020215

This Sinful had some catchy name, reason I bought it from cherryculture… actually I bought two and gave them both away.

Catrice Clay-ton My Hero, wish I had never swapped this away

Finger Paints Warm He-Art-ed

P1020216

These definitely aren’t multchromes; more of a complex shimmer in a muddy base… but here they are anyhow.

P1020221

Orly Fifty-Four, OPI that I have since swapped away.  Name, anyone?

P1020222

P1020225

OPI I’m a Princess, You’re Not!

P1020224

OPI Rent, Thoroughly Modern Millie… or the other way around, Anna Sui 32C, 235

P1020223

P1020218

Scherer Chameleon Corona (I think…), OPI Movin’ Out and ???

P1020217

And yes, that mini Max Factor in the background *is* Fantasy Fire, which I gave to alelvi123 before I could show her off here.

2 – OPI Breathe Life [thanks to hollycoffeebean for this one]

3 – OPI Maliblue [has just a tad more yellowgreen color shift than Breathe Life, but maybe it’s an old and yellowed mislabeled Breathe Life.  It arrived to me unlabeled and with a China Glaze skinny brush!]

4 – Scherer Chameleon Blue Frost

5 – Wet n Wild Color Icon Bejeweled 2012 Bow In My Presence [dupish to ChG Prismatics 2012 Optical Illusion and predecessor to WnW Toppings 2013 Frosted Over]

Without a doubt, the best $2.80 ever spent!

I had to sit on my hands not to edit out those magenta specks…

Lots of ladies complained re the lollipop bottles, but I thought them very Japanese [though made in China] and therefore cool, since I’d seen these bottles on Japanese blogs long ago, filled with other brands’ varnishes… the Bejeweled collection, right, has a giant brush and very thick formula in comparison to Toppings, left.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

H&M Norwegian Sky was a shocker once applied to the nail wheel… opaque minty greenblue, in one coat!  In the bottle, it is a whited out sky blue with turquoise to pink color shifting shimmer.

SONY DSC

Here we are at fall equinox and I’ve just gotten round to revisiting the multichrome comparison libraries, my initial raison d’etre for inaugurating blueberry milk tea. 😉

I’ve been sitting on this light blue volume for more than a year, as I was waiting on Misa Decadent Drifter, Misslyn Dragonfly, Orly Angel Rain and SpaRitual It’s Raining Men.  Although each of those varnishes fell through for different reasons, I unwittingly ended up acquiring others in their places.

This color family is dedicated to my son BB, who learned to surf this past summer and still can’t get used to the idea that another school year has begun.  For you, mi’jo, this and the ensuing farewell-to-last-season series of posts I shall deem “Endless Summer” (since I’m so tardy to the party, always).

A featurette extension of yesterday’s purple-with-pink-shimmers

Long ago, when studying anthropology and linguistics, it made a deep impression on me that certain African cultures do not maintain a linear perspective of the time-space continuum; rather, their view is a cyclical (or circular) one.  Thus, these cultures’ words for “today” translate to “yesterday come back”.

Hence, please consider the current images “yesterday come back”.  On display, a few fancy purples with pink or varied flash:

SONY DSC

Scherer Chameleon Hula, OPI Yokohama Twilight, Colorama Ventinho Bom, Impala Rebelde Duplo Sentido

Essence Colour & Go Oh My Glitter!, Impala Trem da Vida Alegria, Catrice Heavy Metallilac, Catrice Even More Heavy Metallilac

SONY DSC

Impala Trem da Vida Deitar Na Rede, Franck-en of RBL Piu Mosso composed primarily of Essence Colour & Go Stuck on You, Sephora Collection It’s Time to Rock!

SONY DSC

Scherer Chameleon Hula, OPI Yokohama Twilight

SONY DSC

Colorama Ventinho Bom, Impala Rebelde Duplo Sentido.  Ventinho Bom is almost a PFF to yesterday’s duo of NOPI KK Back to Reality…TV and Sinful Colors Zeus.  The base color is not as blue-leaning, but the pink shimmer is definitely there.  (I haven’t been able to spot it in my photos, or in anyone else’s.)

SONY DSC

Essence Colour & Go Oh My Glitter!, Impala Trem da Vida Alegria

SONY DSC

Catrice 800 Heavy Metallilac, Catrice 31 Even More Heavy Metallilac

SONY DSC

Impala Trem da Vida Deitar Na Rede, Franck-en of RBL Piu Mosso composed primarily of Essence Colour & Go Stuck on You. Soon I will feature the real RBL Piu Mosso in a fall color lineup.

SONY DSC

Impala Trem da Vida Deitar Na Rede, Sephora Collection It’s Time to Rock!  Very, very similar excepting the greater complexity of It’s Time to Rock!  2-3 coats each.

As the circle of the nail wheel seasons turns, I will return shortly with a fall lineup that was actually prepared end of summer in California… yes, it’s hard to keep up with the linear time-space continuum.  In the U.S., we were granted overnight an extra hour to extend our “yesterday come back”.

Multichrome Comparison Library, Volume Three: Glitter Gal Red Night Sky Brilliant + wayward cousins thrice removed

Sigh. Uninspired…

I should deem this a discounting, in lieu of a comparison.  These polishes are all so different, yet they have a common, maybe none too obvious thread of gold-pink-orange-burgundy-red-brown-bronze running through them in varying guises and finishes.  Let’s have a look at my confusion:

L to R: Corona, Magic Sunset, Mesmerizing, Heat

Wild & Willing, Warm & Fozzie, Rustic Dream, Amber

Red Night Sky Brilliant, Idyllic, Poison Apple

Ooh…ahhh…

I ordered my G-Gal online for about $20 USD.  The bottle is gorgeous, the font is über modern cool, my name is Gemma so of course I heart that G on the front, plus I’m half Australian…oh, and the polish looks amazing in the bottle.  In the bottle and in the bottle only, methinks.

Some time ago, I ended up with a free sackful of many stunning multichromes from a drugstore, simply because the shelf tag had listed an incorrect price and I mentioned the discrepancy at the cash register.  Instead of charging me the correct, lower price, they acknowledged their mistake by giving me the products free.  One of these stunning multichromes was Scherer Chameleon Corona.

Why do I yammer on and on about this Corona?  Because when I applied my Glitter Gal with bated breath and with the stars aligned just so in the night sky, it looked…well, awfully similar to…I dare say…Corona.  But it didn’t last as long as Corona, not even half as long, and it dug twenty times as deeply into my pocketbook.  [But it has a G for Gemma on it and it’s from Australia, like half of moi…]

See what I’m sayin’?

Varnishes which easily could have been included here, had I been more organized, inspired and less disappointed with the namesake of this post:

Accessorize – Pink Spice
China Glaze – Swanky Silk
Deborah Milano Shine Tech Scarabeo – 73 Sunset Highlights
Impala Disco Sex Appeal*
MAC – Bad Fairy
Maybelline Color Show – Pink Cosmo*
Misslyn – Peacock LE – 720 Elfin Butterfly
Models Own – Pinky Brown
OPI – I’d Like to Thank…
OPI – The Show Must Go On!
